As a storyteller you constantly find yourself in different places, different situations, and with different people.
My stories started innocently enough in Miami, FL where I was born to wonderful Cuban immigrants. I learned my craft at the University of Florida (UF) where I earned a degree in journalism and studied photojournalism and videography. I covered music, local issues, and sports for publications like the Gainesville Sun, Reax magazine, and the Fine Print where I was a contributor when it won Best New Publication from Campus Progress.
After I graduated, I shot a documentary that I'm currently editing. My time covering music at UF lead me to traveling the country with local Gainesville band Morningbell to film their tour.
I learned more about documentary as the digital arts and publishing intern at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. I assisted in the production and marketing of such books as Iraq | Perspectives, Colors of Confinement, In This Timeless Time, and One Place. In addition, I co-edited the festival programs for the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.
My journey through the country led me to Chicago, IL where I was the editor of Concierge Preferred magazine. We offered expert insight for better travel. In addition to the magazine, we created the best visitor-related products in the Chicago market to give visitor-oriented businesses, concierges, and tourists better options.
I’m currently living in Pittsburgh, PA where I’m the communications manager at Manchester Bidwell Corporation, a non-profit focused on providing arts education to at-risk youth and career training to adults-in-transition. If you have a story or adventure, shoot me an email at email@example.com.
